Claire and Jared’s only daughter, Piper, was delivered at 18 weeks, 5 days GA. She left behind parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts and friends that will miss her always. Piper was diagnosed with Trisomy 13 around 16 weeks and during the follow-up maternal fetal medicine visit, Claire and Jared found out she was no longer living, there was no heartbeat. They chose to deliver her within 24 hours and spend time with her physical presence before officially saying goodbye and beginning their grief journey. The passion to develop Piper’s Purpose is deeply rooted in Claire and Jared’s experience with little, appropriate support from the medical community before, during and after they lost Piper.
